After capturing hearts at local markets and festivals across Utah, HuggaBuddies — a women-led, family-run plush toy brand — is officially launching its online store nationwide. What started as a heartfelt creative project between a mother and daughter has grown into a beloved comfort brand that’s now ready to bring cuddly joy to families everywhere.
Known for their soft, sensory-friendly design and emotional mission, HuggaBuddies’ weighted plush sets and storytime bundles have become a local favorite, helping kids feel safe, soothed, and seen during everyday transitions like bedtime, travel, and quiet time.
“We started at small markets to share HuggaBuddies with families in our own community,” said Megan Nelson. “The response was overwhelming — parents were telling us how much these plushies and blankets meant to their kids. That’s when we knew it was time to make them more widely available.”
This season, HuggaBuddies is doubling down, continuing to show up at beloved Utah events while also launching new bundles and a more accessible online shopping experience. The move allows families across the country to experience the connection and comfort HuggaBuddies has become known for.
At its core, HuggaBuddies is about more than just making bedtime cozier, or playtime more imaginative, or ultra-soft minky quilts that fold into backpacks; it’s about emotional well-being, quality time, and feeling held. Each HuggaBuddie is designed with intention, from the calming weight to the cozy textures, to support emotional regulation and strengthen the bond between parent and child.
