How Trading Creators Edit Chart Videos Without After Effects

Episode Summary

Most video editors cannot build a candlestick chart, which leaves trading creators screen recording static charts. A candlestick editor fixes the chart layer, while CapCut or Premiere handles the rest of the edit.

Episode Notes

SHERIDAN, WYOMING, Oct. 27, 2026 -- ChartAnimator, the candlestick chart animation software built specifically for trading educators, financial YouTubers and technical analysis content creators, has published a complete trading video editing workflow centered on its candlestick editor. The trading chart animation engine lets creators build bar-by-bar market animations, where candles print one at a time while zones, levels and trade setups appear in sync with a voiceover.

The workflow follows a pattern in search behavior. On ChartAnimator’s own YouTube channel, 75% of views on its most-watched tutorial came from YouTube search, led by queries such as “trading video editing” and “how to edit trading chart video.” Trading creators were not searching for animation software. They were searching for a way to edit trading videos.

Most trading video editing today relies on tools that do not understand charts. CapCut, Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve handle cuts, captions and voiceover well, but none of them can build or animate a candlestick chart. Creators either screen record a static TradingView chart or animate a screenshot with zooms and pans. Adobe After Effects can produce candle-by-candle animation, but every candle body, wick and zone must be built and keyframed by hand, which often takes six to 20 hours for a single chart scene.

ChartAnimator separates the chart layer from the edit. Inside the candlestick editor, creators build candles individually or as a group, then add supply and demand zones, Fibonacci levels, Elliott waves, ICT order blocks, fair value gaps, and entry, stop loss and take profit markers. Each element animates on a timeline and exports as an MP4. That clip then drops into any video editor alongside the voiceover.

The documented workflow runs in five stages: write the script, record the voiceover, build the trading animation, edit the video together, and export with a thumbnail taken from the strongest chart moment. Because the voiceover is recorded first, every chart animation has a fixed length to fill, which removes the most common cause of rework in trading video editing.

ChartAnimator defines the trading chart animation engine as a software category distinct from general video editors, motion graphics tools and charting platforms. The category has a single defining criterion: native understanding of candlestick charts, trading annotation and educational video production, built in the language of trading rather than the language of motion design.

“Traders kept asking how to edit their chart videos, and the honest answer was that no editor could do the chart part,” said Seth Grey, Founder of ChartAnimator. “CapCut is great for the cut. It just doesn’t know what a candle is. So the chart gets built in ChartAnimator, and the edit happens wherever the creator already works.”
