Lets talk about How Inspections Work & When To Plan One When extreme weather events happen, such as hail, tornadoes, blizzards, or extreme winds, it may be time to call an expert. To prevent leaks from developing in the first place, the Apex team recommends that all roofs, even yours, should be inspected twice per year by a professional. However, if you get any really major storms or anything worries you, it's alright to book an extra inspection too. Each inspection will assess your entire roofing system, including seams, eavestrough, and drainage systems, so the smallest problems can be fixed early, while they are more affordable. If you have asphalt shingles, the most obvious signs of damage are usually missing or bent shingles, or sometimes, a lack of granules on your shingles, if they're getting a little older.

For most other types of roofing, it can be harder to spot damage from the ground, especially commercial roofs - but you can still check your drainage systems, and ensure there's no water damage inside.

Perhaps the easiest way to check for problems, though it requires getting a little wet, is to go outside in the rain and see where the water is coming down. If it's all coming out of your downspouts like it should - that's a great sign.
